Once upon a time I had a faerie tale boyfriend, and I won't say if he was the changeling or prince charming, or if I was Cinderella or the evil queen, but oh, boy, did we have fun while it lasted!
Once we went to a festival near to home, but far away, and this man packed his enormous bed into his truck, and when we arrived, he shimmied up three trees, trailing his climbing ropes behind him, and within two hours had suspended the bed betwixt and between them, high enough off the ground that I needed a boost up, and for three nights we slept cradled in the leaves and sky, swaying gently as the breeze whispered us to sleep.
Need I say that almost everyone there came by for a turn in the dream cradle, and I know it changed my life in ways that still fuel my belief in everyday magic and alchemy.
As I was preparing to dye up this batch, my thoughts were not with him or that memorable time, but with aubergines for some inexplicable reason. So as I was pursuing those hues, the yarn started to slip into other directions, and finally I saw where she was going, with the remembrance of the full moon in the sky, etched by the branches of those cuddling trees. All silvery cream moon and violet night, splashed with dark hollows and lavender shadows, this yarn will work up into some magical thing of your own, either by itself or nestled with friends.
