Obviously it's no surprise where the name for this batch came from. I was editing photos whilst still playing around with different words and emotions, hoping that the images would speak. Usually the name surfaces long before this stage of the process, so it was an unusual situation of being ready to go but held up by a technicality.
It was playing in the background as I worked. The long extended 25 minute parts I-IX version. And yes, I had it on repeat. It was listen to that or Peter Gabriel, both revered. Whereas the inspiration for the colors happened earlier in the week when I walked out of my room and turned my gaze right. The sun (THE SUN!) filled the entire window, huge, coppery gold, blazing in the violet indigo peach lemon winter sky. What fortuitous timing! I couldn't get that image out of my mind, and so I got it down onto the yarn. There are myriad colors striated throughout the strands, hues and shades that, perhaps, only have names in our wildest imagination. I'm beyond pleased with how they turned out. I hope a few of you like them too.
If it were me I might be inspired to run a strand of this with a complementary neutral through an entire garment or accessory. It's amazing how that little spark of color can further enliven even the most gorgeous stand-alone solid.
Also, if you would like to purchase 50 grams of this colorway I would be happy to split a skein, just ask. $48/50gms
This is our signature yarn. There is nothing in this world softer than cashmere and silk. Except angora. But all that fluff floats off my knitting and gets in my eyes, so whilst I adore angora, I prefer cashmere. Treat yourself or a beloved friend to the most luxurious fiber experience possible.
