There are times when we all dream of packing it in and taking off. Usually momentary, born of a slight or fleeting inconvenience or irritation, but the siren call of everyday comfort tends to draw us back to our senses.

There are times though when our inner child, or deepest heart's desire, will not listen, and insists that we set out without care of cost or consequence. And that's when life shakes off the sleepy dust of conditioning and throws it's arms wide into the desert heat, or winter rain, and we feel without thinking how utterly glorious it is to be alive.

Walking through my new neighborhood feels both as if I've returned home, and at the same time am exploring plants, trees, flowers, spiders, birds and insects for the very first time. Sniffing the wind wafts unfamiliar nectery scents, unfamiliar and unnamed, heady and beautiful, lifting my heart. I'm delighted I left a safe harbor for uncharted horizons.

The colors of this yarn are my way of inviting you into one small corner of my new world. Dried leaves, fresh grass, ancient bark, the underside of a bird's wing, the flashing light of a firefly at dusk, the setting sun seen through a prism in the window. There is always so much, and having run these strands through my hands I know they'll work up into the quintessence of summer everywhere.
