As I've written before, sometimes the skeins come out of the kettle and are snapped up almost before dried. Other times, despite any rhyme or reason, they sit in their corner of the box, humming quietly to themselves, more patient than me in awaiting their new home.
These were five such patient skeins, and this week they jumped back in for another color bath, revealing themselves to now be darker, richer, subtly mirroring the deep indigo and mysterious sapphire of the soon to arrive winter sky.
This lovely lofty aran weight yarn will work up quickly and with beautiful stitch definition. My friend Terri knit an exquisite baby blanket in this past colorway, breathing love into every stitch for her soon to be born grandchild. It would make a comforting cozy cowl or scarf, a warm and wooly hat, or claim all five skeins and create an evocative cardigan.
